Amendment 1
In Amendment one freedoms are expressed. Freedom of religion, assembly, press, petition, and speech are those freedoms mentioned in this amendment.
Amendment 2
Amendment two allows people to bear arms. This means people are allowed to carry legal weapons as long as they have a permit.
Amendment 3
Soldiers are not allowed to force people to live in their houses. In this amendment people have to power to not allow soldiers to move in.
Amendment 4
People have the right of privacy in this amendment. Unreasonable searches and stealing are against this amendment.
Amendment 5
Amendment five lets criminals have rights. For example criminals cannot go to prison without any evidence that they are guilty.
Amendment 6
This amendment is about civil trials. If someone was sued for five dollars they could not have a jury trial, but if they were sued for over twenty dollars then they would be allowed to have a trail.
Amendment 7
No continuous bail or excessive fines are allowed. After a court case, this amendment is protection against excessive fines.
Amendment 8
Cruel and unusual punishments are not allowed. If someone was found guilty in a case they must get the punishment they deserve not what the jury or judge thinks they should get.
Amendment 9
Besides the rights in the constitution there are many other rights that the Constitution allows. In the ninth amendment rights beyond what the Constitution states are allowed.
Amendment 10
This amendment allows the state to have their share of power in the government. The tenth amendment was created so the government would not be overpowered.
